How to backup your MySQL database using PHPMyAdmin. This will apply to anyone with a custom blog or website that uses MySQL including Wordpress blogs, Expression Engine and more.

Keep in mind that if you are using WordPress, there are plugins that can automatically back up your database for you at specified intervals. I use one called WP-DBManager.

I’m not sure. There may be additional steps to back up the forum however the procedure for backing up the MySQL database (or databases) should be the same as long as your provider uses PHPMyAdmin.
